Simply put, Clinical Nutrition is a holistic
approach to healthcare. It is an alternative to the traditional
pharmaceutical based, healthcare model. Clinical Nutrition focuses
on keeping the body strong and healthy. It is an undisputed
fact that a strong healthy body is better able to defend itself
from disease, versus a weak unhealthy body.
Clinical nutrition is the relationship between food and a healthy
body. Even more, it is the science of nutrients and how they
are digested, absorbed, transported, metabolized, stored, and
eliminated by the body. Additionally, clinical nutritionists’
are interested in how the environment affects the quality and
safety of foods, and what influence these factors have on health
and disease.
Clinical Nutrition is personalized for each patient,
based on a specific plan, designed by nature to enable the body
to repair itself and grow healthfully.

Vitamins that are being used today, generally only need to
have a small percentage of their actual content from natural
sources to be labeled “natural”. If they are not
derived from whole foods, they often make you even more deficient
and nutritionally deprived. They can create other health problems
because they do not contain all of the co-factors found in nature
that make the vitamin work, which will then call upon the body’s
own reserves to process it, creating a negative nutritional
effect (nutritional deficiency).
Our nutritional approach uses 100% organic whole
food supplements. The supplements that we use are manufactured
by the Standard Process Company. With our 100% organic whole
food supplements, there is no risk of adverse interactions with
your medications. These whole food supplements are just organically
grown foods, in high concentrations. You will have no more reaction
from them, than you do from foods you buy at the local grocery
store. The good thing is, that these supplements have vital
phyto-nutrients and antioxidants, that will assist your body
with improving your health.
Remember that we are not necessarily replacing
your medications, we are just helping the body along side the
medications ... a support, if you will. Only your prescribing
doctor can take you off your medications. So with our Clinical
Nutrition approach we can arm your body with the support it
needs to combat almost any ailment. It is interesting to note
that for every prescription medication, there is a set of synergistic
whole food supplementation.
Are the vitamins you take causing deficiencies?
Research indicates that synthetic vitamins may actually be the
cause of nutritional deficiencies. Whenyou take a synthetic
vitamin, it needs the co-factors normally found in the whole
food, in order to complete its action. If they are not in the
foods you eat, it will draw the co-factors from your body. You
may feel good for a while but when the co-factors run out, you
will begin to feel worse. The prolonged action of the synthetics
imitates the action of drugs; they over-stimulate rather than
feed your body.
Remember, just because it says "organic"
or in a Health Food Store, doesn't mean it is good for you,
don't be fooled by labeling.
"100% certified organic":
No synthetic ingredients are allowed by law, cannot be produced
using excluded methods, sewage sludge, pesticides or ionizing
radiation.
"Organic": At least 95% of ingredients
are organically produced.
"Made with Organic Ingredients": At least 70% of ingredients
are organic.
"Made with some Organic Ingredients": Less than 70%
of ingredients are organic.
"Free-range" or "free-roaming":
Animals had an undetermined amount of daily outdoor access.
(not restricted by pens)
"Natural" or "All Natural":
Doesn't mean organic. No standard definition, except for meat
and poultry products, which may or may not contain any artificial
flavoring, colors, chemical preservatives, or synthetic ingredients.
Claims aren't checked. (all natural and organic are not interchangeable,
as you maybe lead to believe.)
“Just as the chemist cannot create
life, neither can he create a complex vitamin: the life element
in foods and nutrition. This is a mystery the chemist has never
solved and probably never will, and the synthetic vitamins he
creates on the basis of chemical formulae bear as much resemblance
to the real thing as a robot does to a living man, lacking an
elusive quality that chemistry cannot supply.”Quote
